Dear Members,
 
A quick review of what we have done in the past 8 weeks since taking office on 25th October 2009. It's good once a while to put down in writing and see in black and white what we've done, or not done, and things left to do - lots!!
I shall endeavour to put in writing on an occasional basis the latest updates, changes and proposals with regards to the Catering department of the Club from time to time, gleaned from recent meetings and discussions.
 
1) Changes already instituted - done deals
       - total revamp of Rajah Room set-up,menu,prices, etc by Rudi
       - allowing children aged 9 onwards entry into Rajah Room
       - allow non-diners to use the Rajah lounge at all times
       - allow orders from Main Hall menu into Badger Bar
       - change opening time from 6.45pm to 6pm at Hornbill Restaurant
       - specific :  31st Dec dinner - Happy Hr, free beers and snacks for 1 hr
       - moving coffee machine from Badger bar to Main Hall
       - Danish pastry snacks and other new menus for early-birds and tea-time
       - signed an MOU with UCSI for them to supply us with up to 200 "hospitality student 
         apprentices" on training in the service area for 6-12 weeks wef 1/1/2010
 
2) Latest Proposals - yet to be implemented
        - a review is on-going to change/revise prices at Main Hall & Hornbill Restaurant.
        - repair the faulty temperature thermostat in Hornbill Restaurant.
 
3) New ideas and plans - on the table
         - utilise the handicapped drop-off space for "take-away" pick-ups (on request)
         - allow an outside contractor to provide night snacks at Badger Deck 
         - look for interested hawkers to set up laksa/kolo mee stalls in Main Hall
         - visit and study and help improve the Golf Resort F&B outlet/vis-a-vis contractor
 
The Catering Sub-Committee, as well as all the other Sub-Coms, welcome any and all Ordinary Members (and their associates) to attend any of their regular sub-com meetings held at the Club  premises at any time.   If you're interested, kindly lodge your name and contact no. (both cellphone and email) with the Office Admin - either Chris Tan or Michelle Tiong - who will contact you, at least 48hrs before hand, to advise when the next meeting is scheduled. 
 
Such meetings are held from time to time as the need arises. They usually last between one to two hours depending on the agenda and issues involved.
